Welcome to London

Cisco have set out their stall in Covent Garden and are providing free wireless access - and free computers to use - in the Piazza for the next two weeks. It's a publicity stunt, and their slogan of "On the human network people decide what's possible" has a corporate-speak vomit-making quality but still..... it's Cisco, and they are the foundation of the Internet. And making people and human interaction more important can't be a bad thing.

I really like their ads "The Human Network" ones. It reminds me a little of the book/film Children of Men, not really sure why...
Great shot by the way!

Now that is what I call a picnic rug!

Excellent!

What a great idea. Finding wireless spots is difficult enough and here, they allow free use of computers too. Great! Are they packing up that rug and coming to Gloucestershire next by any chance?

Never mind the marketing-speak, since when did Italian become an official language in Britain? "Piazza." We used to call 'em a square. Sorry Ham, not getting at you, but it does just amuse me. I constantly translate the Spanish "Plaza" to square and most likely, there is no need, or this is the wrong word these days. :-)

I live in Portland, Oregon and we have free wi-fi throughout our downtown area that should spread to 95% of the city within a year and a half. But the city doesn't give us carpets to sit on.

The govt is trying to provide free wifi to almost all of Singapore.

We dun have nice red carpets too.
