This is not a brothel

Shot with Olympus E500
Really. This is the door of an office in Meard Street, Soho. You can only imagine the frustration that must have led to this plaque being screwed on the door (ooo! I couldn't help myself).

G'day Ham!

Why would anyone think that's a brothel? Is the building in that kind of neighborhood?

Ha, that's funny! A different story to the people that work there!

All the best from Hamburg, Germany,

Marc

I can't believe my eyes when I saw it,Can't imagine how frustrated the people inside and wonder what their reaction every morning grasp the door's handle and the eyes caught the plaque

LOL! Being Soho, perhaps those services used to be offered there? I can't understand why they don't just set up in the business to take advantage of the already passing trade. You know, "give the customer what they want." :)

Thanks for the background Ems.... an even better story than we originally thought!

That is SO FUNNY!! Did you just find it when passing by or did you know it was there?

I actually had a friend who lived there and I'm always walking down there and I never noticed this!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (16:16) :

That is quite hilarious. And most unfortunate.

Years ago (10+?) I used to walk down Meard St on the way to work, well before that sign was put up, obviously, and on nice summer days the working girls would all be sitting in the open windows in their underwear. Maybe half a dozen brasses.
It's been years since the building changed hands.
Some johns have long memories, I suppose.
