Do you remember?

The war memorial at Golders Green tells the same story - there are not that many in London that commemorate only the dead of the Second World War.

Holiday time again, so blog is set to autopilot, see you all in August sometime.

My grandfather fought for England in the Great War. Of course, that was the event that led to the modern UK.

Actually not correct. This memorial, although modern-looking, was dedicated on 21 April 1923 to the 181 dead of Golders Green in the Great War.
Imperial War Museum records the following: WALL PLAQUE: TO THE MEMORY OF THE/ MEN OF GOLDERS GREEN/ WHO MADE THE/ SUPREME SACRIFICE/ 1914 - 1918
