Hot Jazz

One of the more original buskers I've seen for a while, on the Southbank.

As an erstwhile tubast I've always resented the "clown" acts that belittle or trivialise the instrument. While the ball of flame is impressive, it reduces the tuba to a stereotypical sideshow act, performed by untalented chubby boys or annoying eccentrics (the type who wear bowlers and white gloves).

I think if the late Harvey Phillips happened on this buffoon he'd give him a good crack.

Great shot. Nice grab of the fireball.

Actually, the playing was quite good, too.....

Which is my point. 99.9% of people will remember the clown with the fireballs, not Schubert's Der Lindenbaum.

A very original snap, don't you think he deserves at least one tip?
